Sanjay Dutt’s Munnabhai 3 will kickstart by the end of 2019; assures Vidhu Vinod Chopra

While growing up in the early 2000’s, we all loved watching Munnabhai M.B.B.S followed by Lage Raho Munnabhai and more so, we loved the eccentric characters Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani played onscreen. We often tried to mimic Munnabhai (Sanjay Dutt) and Circuit (Arshad Warsi). However, good news is that producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra will be returning with the Munnabhai sequel, Munnabhai 3 and work will begin in December 2019. The film is slated to release sometime in 2020. Reportedly, Arshad Warsi too has confirmed that plans are afoot to make Munnabhai 3, with Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi co-starring again.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra recently said in an interview that he hasn’t made the next Munnabhai because he didn’t get a proper script and hopes to make it this year. Rajkumar Hirani has directed the first two Munnabhai films and no one has a clue when he’ll be directing this film since rumours were rife around last month after he was charged of sexual misconduct by one of his former assistants.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra has produced Sanju, a biopic made on the life of Sanjay Dutt which too was directed by Rajkumar Hirani. It was one of the highest grossing films of 2018 and entered the 300 crore club. Recently, when the producer attended the press conference for EkLadki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga, he dodged all the questions that were asked to him about Rajkumar Hirani’s sexual harassment allegations and on the MeToo movement. He said he wouldn’t want to answer them right away and would wait for the right time. With Rajkumar Hirani getting caught up in a controversy currently, will Munna and Circuit be able charm us as well as they could in the earlier two parts? Post your comments below.
