Bollywood has lost one more people during the lockdown, veteran lyricist Anwar Sagar died on the staircase of a suburban hospital on Tuesday evening. According to lyricist Vijay Akela, “Anwar Sagar was not suffering from Covid 19 but was not keeping well and wanted to get himself admitted for breathing issues. But no hospital in Mira Road was ready to admit him.”
Some of the films for which Anwar Sagar wrote songs were Kishen Kanhaiya (1990), Dil Ka Kya Kasoor (1992), Balwaan (1992), Khiladi (1992), Sapne Sajan Ke (1992), Bekhudi (1992), Vijaypath (1994), Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Aa Gale Lag Jaa (1994), Salaami (1994), Yaarana (1995), Baazi (1995), and Yeh Zindagi Ka Safar (2001).
Anwar wrote the ever popular Vaada Raha Sanam for the film Khiladi. Composer Lalit Pandit said, “It is very terrible news, the hospital was asking for Rs 8 lac to admit him.”
Anwar is the second musician to pass away during the lockdown. Wajid Khan of Sajid Wajid succumbed to Covid 19 on Monday.
