The Lion King: The Hindi version with Shah Rukh Khan’s voice to release in UAE

Shah Rukh Khan has lent his voice for the character of Mufasa in the Hindi version of Disney’s The Lion King

Disney’s The Lion King has won many hearts and it is all set to bring alive the characters with its live-action scenes in the upcoming remake. The Hindi version of the movie will have Shah Rukh Khan’s voice as King Mufasa and his son Aryan Khan will voice Mufasa’s son Simba. The Hindi version will not only release in India but also in the UAE.

Overwhelmed by the news, King Khan spoke about him being a part of this movie and its release outside India saying, “The Lion King is that one movie that my entire family loves the most and it holds a very special place in our hearts. The legacy of Lion King is timeless; and being a part of this iconic re-imagining with my son Aryan makes it extra special for me. I am forever grateful and thankful to all my fans from the UAE, who have always showered their love on me, and I am ecstatic that they will be able to watch the Hindi version of The Lion King, a film that will always be close to my heart.”

UAE has always been a huge market for South Asian films and SRK enjoys a huge fan base in the country. Besides Aryan and him the Hindi dubbed version will also feature voices of Ashish Vidyarthi, Shreyas Talpade, Sanjay Mishra and Asrani for the character of Scar, Timon, Pumbaa and Zazu respectively. Directed by Jon Favreau, the movie will release across India in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu and across UAE in Hindi on July 19 this year.
