In yet another unprecedented collaboration, Indian actress, business powerhouse and philanthropist Sonam Kapoor Ahuja visited Doha last week for the much anticipated Doha Jewelry and Watch Exhibition for which she was the face this year.

Kapoor’s visit continued its magical streak with heritage Italian luxury brand Bvlgari, with whom the Bollywood superstar has recently collaborated on a number of occasions; imbuing her own brand of old world timeless elegance, beauty, and style.

Having hosted an exclusive intimate dinner at the exemplary National Museum of Qatar, Kapoor’s trip ended on a high, and rather sparkling note. Sharing a unique fondness and understanding for high jewelry from an early age, Kapoor was invited to wear and showcase one of the most iconic pieces of jewelry ever made by the luxury house. Dawning the iconic emerald necklace Richard Burton gifted Elizabeth Taylor in Italy during the filming of Hollywood classic Cleopatra, Kapoor made history. Produced in 1962, the necklace is amongst one of the most prized pieces by Bulgari, and only worn by  three women in history including Kapoor.

Sonam reacted saying, “It is an honour to have worn the emerald Taylor-Burton necklace. I’m a huge fan of Elizabeth Taylor and I’m grateful that BVLGARI lent the necklace to me to wear. It’s amazing to wear a piece of history. The necklace is not just diamond and emeralds; it’s a legacy. Kudos to the luxury house’s dedication to crafting the finest jewelry pieces. The necklace is one of the most prized heirlooms of the brand and I’m glad that I got to see the genius of designers at BVLGARI. Their work is by far the most intricate and unique. It makes me proud and happy to have been on a majestic journey with them through our association.”
