India is facing severe water-crisis in many parts of the country. Most recently Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio shared his concern about the on-going water crisis in Tamil Nadu. And there are many from Bollywood too who have been speaking about it. But among those who’ve been very active about the cause are Shekhar Kapur and Bhumi Pednekar. Commenting on the disparity in access to clean water, he shared a hard-hitting post.
Shekhar tweeted, “In Juhu Ville Parle, Mumbai where many of our stars live, water runs in the showers 24 hours a day. Across the road, in Nehru Nagar slums women n girls stand in line to fight for a bucket of water from tanker mafia at 10 times the cost more than across the road #WaterCrisisinIndia.”
Bhumi too has been posting on the same issue. She took to Instagram, captioning her video: “A ground reality! No groundwater. Watch till the end..it will make you weirdly uncomfortable. #savewater #climatechangeisreal #NowOrNever.” She found support in Kapur who then reposted the message. Check out their posts:
