Woman sues Yash Raj Films after seeing Shah Rukh Khan’s Fan, is awarded compensation!

In first of its kind of judgment the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) has asked Yash Raj Films to pay Rs 10000 compensation to a teacher from Aurangabad who was disappointed by the exclusion of a song from Shah Rukh Khan starrer Fan.

Afreen Fatima Zaidi was disappointed that the song ‘Jabra Fan’ was excluded in the movie despite being used in the promotional trailer.  The NCDRC held this behavior of the production house as unfair trade practice saying that a person who decides to watch the film after seeing the song in the promotion is bound to feel deceived, disappointed and dejected. Meanwhile, the NCDRC rejected the contention of YRF that the producer and the actor of the movie had publicly declared the song was being used for promotion of the film and will not be part of the film.
