Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood will release on THIS date in India

Ever since reports started doing the rounds in mid-2017 that Hollywood filmmaker Quentin Tarantino has written a screenplay for a film about Manson family murders, cinephiles around the globe have been eagerly waiting for its updates. The film was titled Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Amidst many rumours, it was finally announced that Oscar winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio and Oscar nominee Brad Pitt will be the main leads alongside the Oscar nominated actress Margot Robbie. For the past year or so, we have been seeing few glimpses of the star cast in their character looks, some behind the scenes footage of the film’s shooting in LA. Every glimpse of the film has triggered curiosity and we have been eagerly waiting for the film’s release.

And much to our delight, Sony Pictures the distributors of the film announced the film’s release date. Yes. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is scheduled to release on July 26, 2019. As Tarantino’s fans would know – and the film’s poster displays it too – it is ‘the ninth film from Quentin Tarantino’. The film’s first look poster shows Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt standing with the famous Hollywood hills in the background. Leonardo DiCaprio also took to Twitter and Instagram to announce the film’s release date. He posted, “Hollywood. 1969. #OnceUponATimeInHollywood”

Quentin Tarantino is famous for showing on-screen violence, quirky dialogues, long scenes and a unique cinematic style of shooting a film. In Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Leonardo DiCaprio who has previously worked with Tarantino in Django Unchained (2012) – a Spaghetti Western set during the pre-Civil War times – plays Rick Dalton, a television actor aiming to star in movies, in the film. Brad Pitt plays the role of Cliff Booth, Rick’s long-time stunt double and best friend. Pitt had worked in Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds (2009), probably the director’s finest film till date. Margot Robbie, who received an Oscar nomination for I, Tonya (2017), will play the role of real Sharon Tate – an actress married to director Roman Polanski – who was murdered in her home by the followers of Charles Manson. Set in Los Angeles, 1969, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood revolves around Rick (DiCaprio) and Cliff’s (Pitt) one more attempt at achieving fame during the final years of the golden age of Hollywood. Around the same time, when Sharon Tate who was eight and a half months pregnant and her friends were murdered by the Manson Family. The film is a star-studded ensemble that includes Emile Hirsch, Kurt Russell, Dakota Fanning, Luke Perry, Damian Lewis and Bruce Dern. Tarantino is known to create a historic universe of his own by weaving together facts and fiction. Let’s see what the flamboyant filmmaker has to offer with his ninth film (Quentin has in the past said that he would make only ten films in his career, well, we hope he makes more).
