Hasti DoshiLisa Ray, after entertaining us with her films, has now turned author as well. The multi-talented Lisa turned author with her memoir ‘Close To The Bone.’ While everyone was happily reporting about it, this newspaper put a picture alongside of Lisa, which upset her no end. She noticed a racy image used in an article in a newspaper about her memoir.
Lisa took it to her Instagram and writes, “Does anyone else see the irony in using THIS image – instead of an author image provided by my publisher – for an article about my memoir @CloseToTheBone_ where I talk about struggling as a woman with overcoming sexist stereotypes? Just landed in #Kolkata and I must say I’m disappointed With #TheTelegraph unless I’m missing the punchline? I’ve written in depth on this manner of casual sexism during the 90s in India in @closetothebonebook but it seems it still persists. We NEED to change the narrative. What say?”

While Lisa herself has dedicated a few pages of her book to this topic of sexism, it hit her more when she saw a classic example of it right there with the article on her memoir, and it made her angry. Maybe the book is more than just timely Lisa!
