Close to the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, there is much buzz as to who from the acting world will be contesting with a party ticket this year. While Shatrughan Sinha’s name not being included in the BJP list shocked us, another news this morning has been very surprising. It is about actor and president of the Tamil Nadu Dubbing Union Radha Ravi’s suspension from DMK. Yes, turns out that on Sunday (March 24), Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s president MK Stalin uploaded a notice on Twitter about veteran actor Radha Ravi’s suspension from the party. The suspension came in after Ravi passed a sexist remark against actress Nayanthara.

According to certain reports, Stalin said that the party upholds rights of women and Radha Ravi’s comments are highly unacceptable. So, for defying the party’s discipline Radha Ravi has been temporarily suspended. In fact some, other actors also took a dig at Radha Ravi, actress Chinmayi Sripaada also wrote on Twitter as to how he got her suspended after she exposed him during the #MeToo Movement. Now we wonder if Radha Ravi will also be suspending from contesting in the upcoming elections that begin from April 11 in seven phases. Check out the tweet here:

For those who don’t know, at the trailer launch of Kolaiyuthir Kalam, Ravi said, “Nayanthara is a star now and she is hailed as lady superstar. Some even compared her to Puratchi Thalaivar MGR and Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Ganesan. They’re immortals and it is disheartening to see people include Nayanthara in the list. I agree that Nayanthara is a good actress and she is sustaining in the industry for several years. Now, she is a known face. She can act as a ghost and as Goddess Sita as well. Back in those days, if filmmakers had a goddess character in the film, they’d go for veteran actress KR Vijaya. But now, anybody can play the role. Paatha udane kumbudravangalayum podalam, paatha udane koopadravangalyum podalam (We can cast those who are respected and those who sleep around).” This video got some serious criticism online after which the party took this harsh decision. Let us see how the controversy shapes up and while we keep you informed stay tuned to CineBlitz.
