As the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections head close, many controversial stories have been doing the rounds about the election candidature. The most shocking piece of news till now has been about veteran actor Radha Ravi’s suspension from DMK. The 66-year-old was shown the exit door after he made sexist comments on actress Nayanthara. But apart from this, there is a lot happening on the political front. The latest update is that actress-turned-politician Jaya Prada is most likely to join Bharatiya  Janata Party today whereas Hema Malini is gearing up to file her nominations from Mathura. Last week, Shatrughan Sinha’s omission from the BJP contenders list made a lot of headlines and now that the elections are happening from April 11, we will have to wait to see what more turns and twists happen on this front.

Hema Malini

Veteran actress Hema Malini, who will be contesting from Mathura, Uttar Pradesh was seen visiting a temple this morning. She sought blessings before filing her documents for the nomination. She was accompanied by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and we hear some elaborate rituals were also performed at the temple. After 2014, this is the second time Hemaji is contesting from Mathura. She was speculated to contest from the Fatehpur Sikri constituency this year, but people wanted her to contest from Mathura again. Talking about her plans for Mathura, the actress said that she will work hard and bring development in the area. Voting in Mathura will take place on April 18.

Jaya Prada

Going by other speculations, Jaya Prada is also likely to join BJP today. In fact, it is being said that the actress might contest from the Rampur constituency in Uttar Pradesh. Jaya is expected to contest for the elections against Samajwadi Party’s Azam Khan. Will she emerge victorious in her constituency? Well, only time will tell!
