In a surprising twist, superstar and Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) President Kamal Haasan revealed that he won’t be contesting for the Lok Sabha Elections 2019. The actor turned politician was in Coimbatore on Sunday (March 24) to release his party manifesto. During that, he even revealed the list of candidates. Surprisingly, his name was missing. In fact, he has decided that he will not stand for the Lok Sabha Elections 2019 or the bypolls in Tamil Nadu. This makes us wonder, why?
Well, from what it seems, he wants to work for the party and its success. With so many candidates coming from several constituencies, he felt he should be the face of these people and lead their party, than stand for the elections. Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan were expected to stand for the elections from their respective parties, but they have chosen not to. Haasan further told the press in Tamil Nadu, “I have lot of work to do. I will work towards the success of my candidates, but will not contest.” What do you guys have to say about this latest development?
