Actor-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar in her debut inning is on fire and is campaigning hard this election 2019. While in the past few days we saw her taking digs at the oppositions in conferences and media interactions, yesterday (April 25) Urmila in a public meeting had a lot to say. Also present at the meet was new party entrant Shatrughan Sinha, Sanjay Nirupam and leaders from the Congress party.

Urmila since almost a month has been seen campaigning in her constituency. In the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, Urmila is contesting for the Mumbai North seat on a Congress ticket. Meanwhile in a public meet yesterday, we saw her making bold remarks on the current government and also criticising them. Talking about her experience in campaigning she said, “Since the past few day, Sanjay Nirupum and I have been campaigning in our constituencies, but didn’t see any Vikas. When the government in power has such a strong hold, how can there be such a minimal amount of progress? This is saddening.”

Urmila also spoke about how the opposition is using our soldiers and their victory to fill their vote banks but not looking at what the state in which their farmers are in their power. Reminding people the slogan ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’ she said, “soldiers are remembered by all (pointing towards the opposition) but what about the farmers? Why isn’t anybody remembering the farmers that lost their lives in the last five years.”

The actress had a lot more to say. She also mention how there have been videos surfacing over internet of the candidate of the opposition party calling farmer suicide a new trend/fashion. Urmila in her debut is bold and fiery, let’s see what the elections have in store for her.
