Kalank has finally hit the theatres and people have been gushing about the film. Apart from the other cast members, the 90s queen Madhuri Dixit-Nene has especially carved a special place in the audiences’ hearts. Everyone’s aware that Sridevi was initially supposed to play the role of Bahaar Begum, but due to her sudden demise, Madhuri was approached to play the role. Before the film’s release, Madhuri shared her experience of working on the film. Here is what she had to say:
“Well, a lot of things happened. Sri-ji was supposed to do the film, but she passed away and that’s when the role was offered to me. But it was a little emotional for me because Sridevi and I have been associated for a long time. You know, since my career started, there has always been an association of some kind or the other between us, whether it was a comparison or whether it was saying that these two actresses are the headliners in the industry. So, it was very emotional. But it was a great script and had a great ensemble, so I couldn’t say no. Also, the character seemed really intriguing, so I had to do it.”
Kalank is set in the 1940s. The film is directed by Abhishek Varman. So far, the film seems to be doing pretty well at the box office. Stay tuned to CineBlitz to know more about the movie’s release and its first-day collection deets.
