Madhuri Dixit on replacing Sridevi in Kalank: It was an unfortunate incident, we missed her everyday

The teaser of the upcoming film Kalank was launched today, and it was a grand affair. The entire cast was present at the event. While Varun Dhawan and Aditya Roy Kapur showcased their swag with their amazing entrance, the leading ladies, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt and Madhuri Dixit entered the event gracefully. To those who are unaware, Sridevi had signed the film Kalank, but due to her sudden, unfortunate death, the filmmakers had to look for a replacement. So, Madhuri Dixit was roped in for the role of Bahaar Begum, and she replaced the legendary actress Sridevi.

While attending the teaser launch of Kalank, Madhuri Dixit Nene took a chance and spoke about her feelings towards Sridevi. The Kalank actress said, “It is a very sad feeling and it touches my heart whenever I think about the unfortunate event. She was a good artist and a good human being. To step into this, as an actress I have to do my job, but we used to miss her during the shoot as she was supposed to do this. While playing the role I see beyond all this to do my work perfectly but we all missed her.”

Kalank is set in the pre-independence era and tells the love story of different characters who are all somehow connected to one another. The film stars Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt and Madhuri Dixit in lead roles and is set to release on April 17.
