Mahesh Babu to produce Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s Biopic titled Major

Telegu superstar Mahesh Babu is all set to produce a biopic which will showcase the life and story of India’s war hero Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan on the big screen. Unnikrishnan lost his life during 26/11 terrorist attack in Mumbai back in 2008. As many will remember, Major Unnikrishnan heroically led his special unit team from the front and successfully rescued 14 hostages. He also saved a fellow officer and took bullets for him.  The film, which will be shot in Telugu and Hindi, will feature actor Adivi Sesh as Major Sandeep.
Our sources close to the film production have told us that the film is being made with the consent of Sandeep’s parents and they will also be giving their inputs.

Since the film is bilingual, Adivi Sesh will be making his Bollywood debut with the biopic. Interestingly, he has also written the film. The announcement happened at an event in Mumbai where the heroes and martyrs of the unfortunate 26/11 attacks were being remembered. The tone of the evening was about sharing the stories of strength.  Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s father, K Unnikrishnan was a guest at the event and shared how he felt about current policies in politics and war. He thanked for being invited on the merit of his brave son and was a proud father, spreading his son’s message of love for the nation wholeheartedly.

Coming back to the biopic, it will be produced under Mahesh Babu’s home banner GMB Entertainment along with Sony Pictures. The film has been titled Major and will be directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka.
