Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathy unveils the prestigious MasterChef trophy in the recent episode

Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi, the charming host of the most revered culinary show, MasterChef Tamil, unveiled the prestigious trophy for the season. Uncovering the most respected Chef Coat, Vijay Sethupathi also announced the cash prize of Rs 25 lakhs for the title winner of the show during the latest episode.

The preceding episode of MasterChef Tamil kick started with the iconic Butterfly Mystery box challenge that had an interesting mix of  ingredients comprising of chicken, Java Plum (Nagapazham), Foxtail Millet (Thinai), Banana peppers (Mizhagai bajji), Pumpkin, Palm jaggery, citron (Narthangai), and Mapillai Samba rice variety. The contestants could cook any dish of their choice, using four mandatory ingredients from the box.  Only two among the 14 were selected to take their place in the safe zone (the balcony) in the first round. The round spotted some phenomenal dishes like a Japanese flavour inspired Congee, millet infused Phirni and a Jamun seared chicken course. It was quite the mouth-watering treat.

While the contestants this week nearly dodged a bullet as things got pretty intense in the Masterchef Kitchen with their next interesting pressure test challenge led by Chef Kaushik Shankar who presented a Kozhukattai fusion recipe stuffed in banana mash titled En Arusuvai ulagam, in memory of his grandmother. This was accompanied by the first elimination of the season with Sashi Anand Sridharan being evicted from the show.
