Malaal: Sanjay Leela Bhansali reveals the reason behind casting Meezaan Jaaferi

Malaal is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming production starring newcomers Meezaan Jaaferi and Sharmin Segal in the lead roles. While Sanjay Leela Bhansali is launching these two in the industry, at the trailer launch event he opened up about his thoughts regarding the leading cast of the film and what really made him think they are apt for the story.

Bhansali shared, “Sharmin Segal was assisting me on Bajirao Mastani. I wanted someone for trying out the costumes. She called Meezaan, they were studying together. As soon as he entered I knew he was a star.” Adding to that Meezaan said, “It is a proud moment for me. The moment where Sanjay Leela Bhansali sir called me and told me he wants to launch me, that moment I can never forget.”
