Malaal’s shoot location has an interesting back story- find out what

Malaal is the story based on Shiva (Meezaan) and Astha (Sharmin) who are neighbors. While their views clash over small issues, they eventually fall in love with each other and then their lives take a twist. This film marks the debut of two newbies Sharmin Segal and Meezaan Jaaferi. While the film is based in the interiors of this city, the location needs to relate to the story. We see in the trailer that there is a back story regarding the location.

At the trailer launch of Malaal, director Mangesh Hadawale revealed, “My story was originally set in a building, but Sanjay Leela Bhansali thought it would be great to set it in a chawl. So we changed that.” Though Bhansali is the producer of the film, his involvement was similar to that of a director. The film will be released on June 28 this year.
