Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s (ROM) next directorial Mere Pyaare Prime Minister (MPPM) will be releasing this week. After the promotions, the screenings have begun and the film is applauded by the celebrities from the sports and film industry. Kirron Kher, Milkha Singh and Sunil Gavaskar have had all good things to say about the film. ROM shares a good bond with Milkha Singh after he made a biopic called Bhaag Milkha Bhaag about the latter starring Farhan Akhtar.

Rakeysh arranged a special screening in Chandigarh which was attended by Milkha and actress turned politician Kirron Kher who were left emotional after the movie ended. When asked about the film, Milkha Singh said, “The film’s idea is very emotional and touching. Rakeysh Mehra is my favourite director and the way he depicts the storyline in a movie.. just like Rang De Basanti and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag which went onto becoming blockbusters and loved by the audiences. Same way I wish and hope people give the love and acceptance that Mere Pyare Prime Minister deserves.” Cricketer Sunil Gavaskar who also watched the film said, “It’s a very lovely film. Everyone has acted really well, especially the kid-Om. He has won my heart. The movie carries a great and important message about the necessity of having a toilet. We never realize the problems of people living in the slums and I really hope this film spreads the message across the nation. We already have toilets building up in the nation since quite years and I wish the same continues through the film’s message for the sanity and safety of our citizens”.

Clearly, the film seems to be a pinch at the right place is what all these praises tell us. ROM is known for making films which are an individual commentary on social issues and status. MPPM is a story about a boy who writes a letter to the Prime Minister about the problem of open defecation. Starring Anjali Patil, Makarand Deshpande, Rasika Agashe, Sonia Albizuri, and Nachiket Purnapatre the film is slated to release on Friday, March 15.For more updates and gossip about Bollywood stay tuned to Cine Blitz!
