A month since Mithya 2 dropped on Zee 5, Anuritta Jha, who played inspector Suman Yadav in the Kapil Sharma-directed psychological thriller, says she would love to be a part of the third season of the series that is adapted by the British television show, Cheat. The actor, who’s character is introduced the second season as a police officer brought in to solve the case that continues from the first edition, concedes, “As of now, I’m not aware of any developments regarding it, but if there are multiple seasons in the future, I would definitely love to be involved. I really enjoyed working with the team; they’re incredibly kind and sweet, and it was such a fun experience shooting with them. So, yes, I’d be thrilled to return.”

Interestingly, Mithya 2 also marked Jha’s reunion with leading lady Huma Quresh after Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), and also lead actor Naveen Kasturia. “It was fantastic to collaborate with Huma again after almost 10-11 years. As for Naveen, we go way back, having done theatre together over a decade ago as well,” she enthuse, calling the reunion “a really special experience”.

Recalling that Gangs of Wasseypur marked the beginnings of Huma and her career, Jha shares, “There’s a sense of shared history between us. Sometimes we’d sit and chat about how far we’ve come, reflecting on the growth we’ve experienced both personally and professionally. We’d talk about the hard work we’ve put in and how proud we are of each other’s accomplishments. It felt really special to reconnect and see how much we’ve both evolved. Working with her again was a genuinely rewarding experience.”

Jha now has AK-47, a political drama set in Bihar. “It is also shot on a college campus where my character is a college graduate caught up in the state’s political landscape, which directly impacts the students. The plot is really engaging, and it’s shaping up to be an exciting project,” is all she can say about it at this point in time. She quickly adds, “Additionally, Ashram 4 will be releasing soon. Though I’m not sure exactly when, it is definitely on the horizon.” Helmed by veteran filmmaker Prakash Jha and starring Bobby Dell as the protagonist, the crime drama played a pivotal role in boosting Deol’s second innings as an actor.

Jha believes that actors are always learning from those around. Pointing out that those who are fresh bring their new energy and perspective to the set, others are seasoned professionals. She elaborates, “Watching Rajit [Kapoor] sir transform himself into the character Anand Tyagi on the set of Mithya 2 so effortlessly is truly inspiring. What I’ve learned is that despite the chaos around you — whether it’s the number of people, unpredictable weather, or fluctuating lights — the most important thing is maintaining focus on your craft. The more you practice, the more you refine your skills. I’m constantly learning from both the people around me and from myself, continuously evolving in my craft.”
