Bollywood celebrities and movies play a huge part in the nation-building process as well as sending out strong socially-motivated messages to the citizens. Keeping that in mind, the Indian government has time and again worked hand-in-hand with the Hindi film industry. And with the Lok Sabha 2019 elections coming up, looks like they’ve made an appeal once again. In fact, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself took charge of reaching out to Bollywood. He urged Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal and several other Bollywood stars to help India. How?

Well, Prime Minister Modi asked the Bollywood celebs to appeal to people to come out and vote during the Lok Sabha 2019 elections. With an average turnout at polling booths, resulting in half the people not voicing their choice, the government wants to change things around. They want more people to select the government they want and we feel this is a commendable initiative taken by Narendra Modi himself. He tweeted out the messages to each Bollywood star, but there’s a twist. He even used Ranveer Singh’s Gully Boy dialogue to appeal to the Bollywood celebs. Check out what PM Modi had to say right here! And share with us your thoughts about this move in the comments section below!

Apart from Bollywood celebrities, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also appealed to sports personalities and industrialists. He even reached out to Chief Ministers of several states, allied ministers as well as opposition politicians. The PM also tweeted to his competitor, Indian National Congress President – Rahul Gandhi. We wonder how will he respond. In the meantime, stay tuned to Cine Blitz for more updates and news from the world of Bollywood.
