Neliima Azeem is making her comeback with THIS web series!

Neliima Azeem, who last played a cameo in 2018 film Blackmail, is making her big comeback to acting with a web show. Titled Mom & Co, it also stars Ayush Mehra in the lead. As the name suggests, the show is about a mother and the relationship that she shares with her son. Since the veteran actress wanted to play a central role and was looking for good content, she decided to do Mom & Co. Talking about the web series, Shahid Kapoor’s mother said, “The first meeting was very charming and when they narrated Mom & Co, I thought that it was a very contemporarily done.”

She further added, “It has an appeal that I felt the youth would relate to. I felt like I haven’t played a role like this before. I am playing the role of this very simple Marathi woman, Suhasini Rao, a homemaker and a single mother and I loved the role. I liked the team also; they are very young, talented and enthusiastic. I like the feel of it. It is very youthful and the writing was very nice, in point with the time.” Considering a lot of actors are making the transition from the big screen to the web, we think it’s really cool that the veteran actress has chosen a web series as her comeback vehicle.

Neliima Azeem is one of the most celebrated actors of her time; she started her career in 1991 and last was last seen in Blackmail. Back in her day, the talented actress was known for portraying strong female characters in her films. And so we were curious to know her opinion on the changing dynamics for the women in the industry today. When asked, Azeem said “There is definitely a change. In the past, there were heroines and young girls playing the lead roles but now there is an interesting shift. Today, there are versatile roles that are being offered to women actors which is not restricted to age, although I feel there is still time for this change to happen completely. There is a focus on women-oriented subjects, which is very encouraging for new and experienced talent in the industry.”

Lastly, when asked about her other projects, Neliima Azeem revealed she has few things lined up but she won’t say a thing until everything is finalised.
