Shah Rukh Khan, Parineeti Chopra, Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha and Arjun Kapoor really need a hit at the Box Office

The last few years have been a shot to success for a few actors including Vicky kaushal, Ayushmann Khurrana, Ranveer Singh, Kartik Aaryan and a few more. But there are some who we really want to shine and give us good cinema. With audiences accepting different genre and concept films, the scope for healthy experiments has vastly increased. Not that they aren’t experimenting, but somehow their experiments have turned out to be damp squibs at the box office. This is just to list the ones we love and want them to up their game to be back in the reckoning. Let’s have a look at the list of some of the stars that deserve a hit asap.
Shah Rukh Khan
Well he is the Badshah of Bollywood irrespective of the number game at the box office, but let’s just face it. Our undisputed king of romance needs a hit to up his box office track record. SRK in his last three releases – FAN, Jab Harry Met Sejal (JHMS) and Zero –didn’t give us the SRK we all want to see. While he tried experimenting as an actor and took on some out of the comfort zone parts to play, but somehow they did not translate into the magic we associate SRK with. In FAN he played double roles, but the film didn’t work much for us after a point. In Imtiaz Ali’s JHMS his charm was missing. With his recent outing in Anand L Rai’s Zero the level of hardwork that went into the making was unimaginable but the outcome didn’t match for sure. We so want our King Khan to come back with a bang.
Arjun Kapoor
Arjun Kapoor who impressed us with his debut in Ishaqzaade and then in Finding Fanny and 2 States, has entered some other zone and is not the same actor we were introduced to. He has not been doing many films but that isn’t the problem. The problem is that the one he does are not what we expect from him. His recent release Namaste England was a debacle in itself, it didn’t impress the critics not even the audience or his fans. Even Mubarakan didn’t work. From an actor like Arjun who is good with comedy and action we expect him to entertain us to the fullest.
Sonakshi Sinha
Sonakshi was last praised for her films like Noor and Ittefaq, which though didn’t open to great numbers, there was no denying that she was good in them. Even Happy Phir Bhaag Jaegi looked good in the trailer but wasn’t the same as a complete package. And seriously we want her to choose her projects wisely. We want her experimenting with good scripts and give us the Sonakshi that we enjoyed watching in Lootera. Still we have our hopes high as she will be seen in Abhishek Varman’s next titled Kalank and she has also signed the multi starer Mission Mangal.
Parineeti Chopra
The actress made a remarkable debut. But after a while she seems to have fizzled out. Not that we doubt her potential at all. But we do miss the spunky Parineeti who’d hit home with audience and at box office. Her last film alongside Arjun, Namaste England did no good for both of them and was clearly a wrong choice. Even Meri Pyaari Bindu and Golmaal Again (inspite of being a superhit) didn’t add much to her credit. Parineeti needs to up her solo game soon.
Sidharth Malhotra
This guy here has a good amount of fan following even when he has no big hit to his credit lately. Aiyaary that looked good on paper didn’t translate on the big screen and didn’t work at all. We last remember him for 2016, Kapoor & Sons, though he did work in four films after that but none made a mark for us. Sidharth needs to use his good looks and the angry man charm that comes to him effortlessly and give us good performances.
