Vaani Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan: 7 celebs who had a run-in with crazy fans

We revel in the merriment of watching our favourite actors and actresses perform onscreen and we spend hours researching about them. But what follows is a huge chain of devoted and obsessed fans. Once in a while, we may catch a glimpse of our favourite stars at an event, movie screenings or maybe run into them randomly on the streets. But being a big shot in the industry comes with a price. Now we all have a certain way of showing our love but what we are about to tell you is quite scary. Fans of celebrities, sometimes take their obsession to another level by either stalking, sending high-end gifts, slashing their wrists (Yes, you heard that right), sending them text messages and what not. And the scenario usually ends up on a foul note.

The latest celeb who landed in a scary situation was none other than Vaani Kapoor. Recently, she was crazily stalked by a fan. While the actress was in her car, the fan followed her everywhere on his bike, provoking her driver to speed up the car but the adamant fan was too zealous in his pursuit. He followed her all the way from Bandra to Versova and that ended in Vaani having to file a police complaint at the Versova police station. Taking this incident into consideration, here are other six celebs that ran into trouble with crazy fans.

1)     Akshay Kumar – An underage girl from Lucknow left her home just to catch a glimpse of the star and had followed him everywhere. But having failed in her attempts to meet the actor, circa 2009 in December, the girl slashed her wrist outside the Kesari actor’s Juhu residence. Fortunately, Akki happened to be at home and seeing her in a traumatic state, he immediately rushed her to the hospital.

2)     Varun Dhawan – Having had many crazy fan encounters, this particular one went overboard. An obsessed fan threatened to kill herself if the actor didn’t reply to her text messages, compelling the Kalank star to file a police complaint against the fan.

3)     Sushmita Sen – Former Miss Universe found herself in a grave situation when one of her fans sent her a bridal attire along with the wedding accessories, asking her to marry him. The fan threatened to kill himself if the actress didn’t accept his offer. Sushmita eventually filed a police complaint against him.

4)     Shahid Kapoor – It so happened that Vastavikta Pandit, daughter of yesteryear actor Raaj Kumar had moved next to Shahid Kapoor’s Yari Road residence. From scaling up and down his building to following him to shoots, she constantly kept on claiming that she was his wife. In the end, Shahid had no other option but to file a police complaint.

5)     Kangana Ranaut – A fan named Akash Bharadwaj was smitten by the Queen actress so much so that he started believing he had been in a romantic relationship with her. He then sent her love letters and messages that made the actress call the cops and file a complaint.

6)     Hrithik Roshan – An obsessed Russian fan named Anna landed outside Hrithik’s house and also his office in an attempt to meet her idol. However, the security refused to permit her from entering the premises and that made Anna very aggressive. The episode ended with Hrithik filing a police complaint against her.
