Nikhil Dwivedi and Anurag Kashyap’s next is a tribute to Kill Bill and here’s everything you need to know

Nikhil Dwivedi is an actor who turned producer last year with the blockbuster film Veere Di Wedding. The film was women-centric and starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania as leads. After that, Nikhil has now joined hands with talented writer and director Anurag Kashyap. The duo collaborated for their next project which is a homage to the Hollywood film Kill Bill. Kashyap has given us some unconventional films like Mukkabaaz, Manmarziyaan, Gangs of Wasseypur and many more. The last Hindi film Anurag co-scripted was Bhavesh Joshi Superhero. He said that he is really excited about this collaboration with Nikhil and working on this project.

The duo will be paying homage to Quentin Tarantino’s famed Kill Bill series, which featured Uma Thurman in the lead. It stars Uma Thurman as the Bride, who swears revenge on a team of assassins and their leader Bill (David Carradine), after they try to kill her and her unborn child. Her journey takes her to Japan, where she battles the Tokyo Yakuza. The debut production of Dwivedi was based purely on the boldness of women and their choices, and he said that he would like to focus on more such women-centric films. Since his last venture was a hit, that makes it more interesting for us as audiences, to see what new ideas he will be putting forward with this kind of film.

Nikhil and Anurag are happy to finally collaborate on a subject close to their hearts. The makers have already approached an A-list actress and will be working on all the formalities soon. The film is expected to roll in the middle of the year, and will probably be shot in Bhutan, Sikkim, Japan and Mumbai. Right now, Kashyap is penning the script for the same, and both are equally thrilled to work on this project.
