Parineeti Chopra replaced Shraddha Kapoor in Saina Nehwal’s biopic because of THESE reasons?

The Saina Nehwal biopic has been in the making since a couple of years now. Shraddha Kapoor was initially signed for the Amole Gupte directorial. She trained for the movie for several months and even shot for a few portions. However, after she was diagnosed with dengue, her whole schedule went haywire. Post her recovery, she went on to complete other films. This raised doubts for the Saina Nehwal biopic. People assumed it was scrapped. However, to everyone’s surprise, the makers revealed that Shraddha Kapoor has been replaced by Parineeti Chopra.

Bhushan Kumar was also quoted saying, “We want to wrap Saina by this year end for an early 2020 release. So going ahead with the project is a decision made by mutual consent. We are glad Parineeti has come on board for the film. Saina has made every Indian proud and we can’t wait to take her story to the world in the year of the Olympics.” While this holds true, there are a few other reasons for Parineeti replacing Shraddha Kapoor in the Saina Nehwal biopic. The real reason why Parineeti Chopra replaced Shraddha Kapoor in Saina Nehwal’s biopic is…

A source close to the development reveals to us exclusively, “As soon as Shraddha Kapoor fell ill, her schedules went for a toss. After recovery, she was weak and wouldn’t be able to maintain the high tempo required to play a badminton player like Saina. She has other film releases coming up too! Saaho, Chhichhore and Street Dancer 3D have a 2019 release. And they all need to make it to their release date. Hence, the cutoff dates of them were close and she had to shoot for them.”

“Shraddha Kapoor also has a couple of other films in her kitty. So the makers would have to wait at least a year or more for her to resume shooting for Saina Nehwal’s biopic. She was also injuring herself every time she took to the court for prep and shoot. And with the makers keen to complete the movie this year, they could not wait for her to get free. Shraddha understood it and she was also shooting for three other films with the same production company. Hence, they came to a mutual understanding and she left. Parineeti, who is a versatile actress and is yet to sign her next, was approached. She instantly agreed and will start prepping after Kesari‘s release,” added our source.
