The spirit of Diwali was brought to life in the heart of Macchimaar Nagar, Colaba, as hunger-relief initiative, ‘Feeding From Far,’ joined hands with the newly released Tiger 3 and Jawan-famed actress Ridhi Dogra to celebrate the festival of lights with residents in the area. The founder, Paritosh Pant, and the dedicated team of volunteers along with the TV turned Bollywood sensation came together to spread warmth, joy, and the essence of togetherness to the underprivileged community truly emphasizing the meaning of Diwali – victory of light over darkness and good over evil.

This campaign is a powerful beacon of hope for those still grappling with the lingering repercussions of the pandemic and have been slowed down by it’s menacing aftermath. It stands as a beacon of resilience, empowering individuals and families to break free from the clutches of poverty-induced hunger. Ridhi and Paritosh distributed 500 ration kits consisting of rice, wheat, dal, salt, cooking oil, sugar, chilli powder, and turmeric powder, valued at INR 700, capable of supporting a family of five for an entire week.

Ridhi shared her thoughts on the importance of making hope and kindness a commonplace in our everyday life. She further expressed, “It was an absolute honor to bepart of the Diwali celebration with ‘Feeding From Far’. I truly believe that the real work in this world is towards each other, towards community or just as much as we can do is also enough. That is the thing that truly matters! I wasn’t going home to my parents this Diwali. The next best thing would be to enjoy the spirit of the festival by giving, sharing, and spreading joy, and what better way to celebrate than by reaching out to those in need. This experience with ‘Feeding From Far’ was joyous, and I am always going to be there for the team in all their work.”
