Hats off to governor of Maharashtra Hon Bhagat Singh Koshyari for wearing masks when everyone else came without one at 27th Lion Gold Awards

Two things do not go unnoticed when you see the photographs clicked at the recently held 27th Lion Gold Awards function in Mumbai. The governor of Maharashtra Hon Bhagat Singh Koshyari deserves kudos for sternly maintaining the protocol of wearing his mask religiously while celebrities like Bobby Deol, Anuradha Paudwal, Kumar Sanu etc went up to the stage to collect their awards from him. Even when Kangana Ranaut went to Raj Bhawan to meet him , I remember while Kangana and her sister Rangoli blatant;y were there without a mask on their faces, the governor strictly adhered to the practise and wore his mask.

Another disturbing tendency I noticed was that just because Dr Raju V Manwani and Ram Jauharani are involved in the association, they have also started having a parochial approach when it comes to bestowing awards. The awards were given away to Best Sindhis in the Sindhi Category, like  Dr. Ram Jawaharani, Dr. Rahul’s Manwani, Mohit Shivani, Gopal Sajnani,  Jatin Udasi, Dr .Pitambari(Peter )Dalwani, Dr.Aneel Murarka, Lata Awtaney etc.

And I am baffled to know Jackie Shroff’s daughter Krishna Shroff also bagged an award from the governor this year for God knows what her achievement is. Surely being the daughter of Jackie Shroff or the sister of Tiger Shroff , I hope was not at all the criterion for her bagging the award. Is it a prestigious award function or has it become yet another sham like the Dadasaheb Phalke awards every year?

Dr. Raju V Manwani exclaimed “Putting together an event this year was difficult, owing to COVID situation. However, we managed! We have taken utmost precautions, from sanitation, social distancing, mandatory masks, etc. We would like to thank all our guests for vesting their trust in us and attending the event.  This year’s theme is special not only to me or the LIONS team but to the entire nation. This time 27th SOL Lions Gold Awards is in support of the Indian Army and Corona Warriors who sacrificed their lives to keep us safe”
