Journalists and celebs have always had a love-hate relationship. While some cannot stop gushing about how good celebs are, some are always after their lives for one thing or the other. One very famous cold war that we all are aware of was between Sonam K Ahuja and Shobha De. After Sonam’s film, I Hate Luv Stories alongside Imran Khan released, De had a rather rude opinion about her. She had said, “As for Sonam, the lassie lacks oomph, even if she does have a great smile and can act. Oh? and Imran should definitely keep his shirt on? if he doesn’t want the audience to lose theirs.”

This episode was brought up by Arbaaz Khan on his chat show Pinch to which Sonam had a very mature reply. She said, “Shobha De has very strong opinions and sometimes it becomes very extremely personal. Sometimes they are very personal and sometimes they are just plain provocative. I just felt that at that time, her opinion was very personal. I felt at that time that her criticism was very personal; it was like a double-edged sword. She said something very nice about me and at the same time, she said I was ordinary. She said she’s a good actress but she is the girl next door ordinary looking. Simple, no sex appeals.”

“I was very hot-headed, ready to jump the gun and very defensive when I was young but my sister turned around and said that ‘why do you want to stoop to her level’ and I don’t necessarily think I was stooping to her level but I was twenty-years-old, it was a reaction, it obviously hurts,” she concluded.

Sonam will be next seen in Abhishek Sharma’s directorial venture The Zoya Factor along with Dulquer Salmaan. Stay tuned to CineBlitz for more such updates from the world of Bollywood.
