Zarina Wahab and Barkha Bisht Sengupta are the new entries to the film PM Narendra Modi. The casting for the Narendra Modi biopic is falling into place rapidly, with new additions to the ensemble every few days. The part that these two actresses will play are from the most crucial sequence in the film that will talk about the PM’s life before coming to power. Zarina will be playing the role of Narendra Modi’s mother, whereas Barkha will be portraying his wife Jashodaben in the biopic. Considering that the honourable PM is very close to his mother, and has always said on record that she is his biggest support system, this role was a crucial one.
“It’s an honour to play the role of the mother of Honourable Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi. This is going to be one of the most special roles I have ever played. I hope the audience like it,” said Zarina Wahab. Barkha Bisht is a well known face on television and has done some supporting parts on the big screen as well. About playing PM’s wife in the biopic, Barkha mentioned, “I am grateful to Mr Sandip Ssingh for giving me an opportunity to be part of such an amazing film. I had a great experience working with him earlier in Goliyon Ki Raas Leela- Ram Leela, and I know that playing Jashodaben is going to be interesting too.”
Directed by Omung Kumar B, the titular role will be portrayed by Vivek Anand Oberoi. Apart from him, Boman Irani, Suresh Oberoi, Zarina Wahab, Darshan Kumar and Barkha Bisht have so far been roped in for the film. The first look was giving out in January and the poster was launched in 23 languages. With the casting process in swing, even as their first schedule is underway, we look forward to the announcement of the release date. What do you think about Zarina and Barkha joining the film?
