Vivek Anand Oberoi starrer PM Narendra Modi will not arrive in theatres tomorrow. Yes, as per the latest development, it is said that the Election Commission has imposed a ban on the film’s release. As per media reports, EC’s order states that no biopic serving any political purpose can be displayed. The much-talked-about biopic had grabbed headlines in the past as it was at loggerheads with CBFC for the film’s certification.
While it cleared that hurdle and got a U certification from the censor board, looks like the Omung Kumar B directorial will not see a release in theatres tomorrow. The film’s press screening was supposed to be held tonight, but with this new development, we guess that won’t be happening either. Tomorrow, the first phase of elections will kick off and the film that chronicles the life journey of India’s Prime Minister won’t be showcased at least till the Lok Sabha elections get over. Earlier, PM Narendra Modi was in the news when certain music legends were wrongly credited for some song in the film. In fact, the film’s trailer also had some trouble with its release. It was shown to the media without a censor certificate and was released for the public much later than on the given time.
While producer Sandeep Ssingh has not commented on this latest development, we will have to wait and watch how the makers deal with this obstacle. Let us know what do you think will happen with the PM Narendra Modi biopic? Will the film be pushed to another release date? Only time will tell, till then stay tuned to CineBlitz for more updates on this front and latest Bollywood news.
