PM Narendra Modi makers clarify music credits given to Javed Akhtar and Sameer Anjaan

Yesterday (March 23) we informed you about the credit row around PM Narendra Modi’s biopic. Many were shocked last evening after lyricist Javed Akhtar and Sameer Anjaan pointed out being wrongly credited for Vivek Anand Oberoi’s film. But seems like there is another side to the story that producer Sandeep Ssingh has present through his latest tweet.   Before we move on to that let us put light on what the hullabaloo is all about, in the poster of the film, credits are given to lyricists Javed Akhtar and Sameer Anjaan who yesterday refused to pen any song for the Prime Ministers biopic. But now Sandeep has clarified as to why did the makers do so.

Today, the PM Narendra Modi biopic producer took to Twitter saying that they have used two old songs in this film which were originally written by these lyricists and hence the credits. He wrote, “We have taken the songs Ishwar Allah from the film 1947: Earth and the song Suno Gaur Se Duniya Walon from the film Dus in our film, thus we have given the due credits to respective lyricists Javed Sahab and Sameer Ji. @TSeries is our Music partner.”  When we spoke to Sameerji recently told us exclusively that there could be the possibility of a remake of their song but they were totally unaware of it and they expect the makers of the film to at least inform them.

Well, we have to say that this is a very good gesture on the part of the makers to give credits to the original writers, but just a little informing wouldn’t have stirred up an issue for the film. PM Narendra Modi is directed by Omung Kumar B and is co-produced by Sandeep Ssingh and Suresh Oberoi. It is slated to release on April 5. Till then let us see how many more hurdles the film has to pass. Stay tuned to CineBlitz for more updates on this front.
