Prabhas on his character in Kalki 2898 AD: “The audience will see me in an entertaining and fun character”

Ever since its announcement, the upcoming sci-fi epic ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has established itself as one of the most extraordinary Indian films ever made. Set to deliver a technically and visually exceptional cinematic experience, the film boasts an impressive star cast and promises to take a unique look at Indian mythology. The mass entertainer stars pan-Indian star Prabhas as Bhairava, who has left a solid impression right from the initial glimpses of his character.

Sharing details about his role as Bhairava, Prabhas spoke about preparing for it and playing this entertaining and fun-loving character. He said, “It is more in the mind. Me and our director Nag Ashwin did a few workshops and we used to talk a lot about the character before going on the set. Whenever we had any thoughts or doubts, we would discuss it thoroughly. This character has many shades and it is very different from my previous films.”

He further added, “For the first time, the audience will see me in a completely entertaining character. Bhairava and Bujji are really fun, especially this character – the way he was born and his situation. I think this kind of character, I have never done anything with so many shades before. Apart from Telugu, this is the first fun character that the audience will see me in.”

Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani, Kalki 2898 AD is directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies. The multilingual, mythology-inspired sci-fi film set in the future will hit the screens on June 27, 2024.
