Rabb Se Hai Dua’s Aditi Sharma: “I’m a very family-centric person, so it was easier to get into the skin of my character”

“I’m a very family-centric person, and so it was comparatively easier to get into the skin of my character,” reveals Rabb Se Hai Dua’s Aditi Sharma.

Tell us about the concept and the storyline of ‘Rabb Se Hai Dua.’

Rabb Se Hai Dua revolves around Dua and Haider, who seem to be happily married to one another. In fact, Dua is an ideal wife and a perfect daughter-in-law whose life revolves around her husband and his family. She feels extremely blessed as she is leading what she considers a perfect life with her husband. however, a sudden revelation by Haider, who has fallen in love with another woman, leaves her shattered. Though he seeks her permission for another marriage, Dua will stand up to the ‘injustice’ that is happening to her and assert the appropriate interpretation of the Quran Kareem! How she will fight back and reinvent herself will surely keep the audience at the edge of their seats, while the story and its underlying thought will have an impact on the minds of the viewers

What is the USP of this show? What makes it different from the other shows?

I believe the concept, the storyline, the underlying thought of the show as well as the characters make Rabb Se Hai Dua quite different from any other fiction show on-air currently. The show will present how Dua stands up for her rights and asserts the correct interpretation of Quran Kareem to her husband, who wants to marry another woman after falling in love with her.

You’re coming back on Zee TV after almost four years, how excited are you to be back on the channel?

I am extremely excited to be back on Zee TV and that too with such a unique and different show. Rabb Se Hai Dua talks about the journey of Dua, who lives her dream life until her husband seeks her permission for a second marriage. The show has a unique narrative that will leave an impact on the audience. I am thankful to the makers of the show for considering me for this lovely role and I am really looking forward to the audience’s reaction to my character and the show!

What convinced you to essay the role of Dua? Tell us something about your character.

The uniqueness of this character is something that convinced me to essay the role of Dua. Married to Haider, she is the perfect wife and perfect daughter-in-law. In fact, she believes that she is one of the luckiest girls, as she is living the best married life. However, everything changes when her husband confesses to her that he is in love with another woman and seeks permission to marry her. Being a fearless woman, she asserts the correct interpretation of Quran Kareem to her husband. She stands up for her rights, while continuing to take care of her whole family, including her husband. Clearly, she is not just a strong character, but also has several vulnerable layers and endearing qualities to herself, which make the character of Dua unique and I am certain that audiences will be able to relate to her character.

What kind of preparation have you done to get into the skin of the character?

Honestly, I am a very family-centric person myself, so it was comparatively easier to get into the skin of the character. However, to get hands-on with the nuances that come with Dua’s role, primarily the diction and the pronunciations, I did watch some Urdu shows. I also have been taking help from the experts on the sets to ensure that I get the demeanour, the body language and the emotions right, among other things.

Tell us about your bond with your co-stars, Karanvir and Richa.

We haven’t shot much, but the little time that we have spent together has been fun. Karanvir and I had an instant connection and I am sure the audience will enjoy our on-screen chemistry. Richa is also a sweetheart. We are like the perfect trio on the set, and I can’t wait for the audience to see our journey in Rabb Se Hai Dua.
