Jaina ShahSuperstar Rajinikanth and Bollywood star Akshay Kumar’s 2.0 was one of the biggest hits when it released last year (2018). Following the film’s massive success, the makers were all set to release the movie in China too. However, there seems to be a change in plans.
The film, which was named 2.0: Resurgence for China, was set to hit the theatres there on July 12. However, according to reports, HY Media might opt out from releasing the film there as the makers feel that the sci-fi drama won’t be able to make more than $25 million in the Chinese market. Moreover, Disney’s The Lion King is all set to release around the same time, thus, 2.0 might get less number of screens.
This would have been Rajinikanth’s first movie to release in China on such a huge scale. However, no official announcement has been made on it yet. The sequel to Rajinikanth’sRobot had released in India on November 29, 2018. For more entertainment news and updates, stay tuned with CineBlitz.
