Rajkumar Hirani sexual misconduct allegations: Dia Mirza suggests an ICC investigation – watch video

Actresses Dia Mirza and Swara Bhaskar along with documentarian Anand Patwardhan were present at the panel discussion on the documentation of Harvey Weinstein- The inside story. After showing the documentary the panel shared their views on the security of women at the work places and in general. When asked by a journalist about the ongoing controversy on renowned film director Rajkumar Hirani, Dia Mirza said, “I am a close friend of Rajukumar Hirani and I have worked with him so I can’t comment anything on that because it’s unfair as I don’t know the details but, I think first this complaint should go to ICC committee and then they should investigate about it as it is very necessary to know the details without that it’s difficult to understand what really has happened and it can be deeply damaging to everyone.” She further added that, she is a huge supporter of women and we can see that on her social media handles where she celebrates women and her achievements. While the Me Too movement that originated in the West and shook the Bollywood industry as well, many women spoke about their encounter with such incidents where men were in power and women couldn’t do anything about it and vice versa. While giving advice Swara Bhaskar said, “I want parents to stop calling their sons Raja Beta, and later he is taken care by his mom and later wife and growing up infantile man. We all should stop that.”
In the documentary of Harvey Weinstein- The inside story there are women speaking up about the harassment they faced from Harvey Weinstein and all the other stories around the man who is the reason for emergence of the #MeToo movement.
