Ramin Bahrani nominated in Best Adapted Screenplay category at 93rd Academy Awards for The White Tiger

Accolades don’t stop for The White Tiger. Latest being writer-director Ramin Bahrani getting nominated in the Best Adapted Screenplay category at the upcoming 93rd Academy Awards aka The Oscars. The Oscar nominations were announced by actress and executive producer on the film Priyanka Chopra Jonas and her husband Nick Jonas on Monday evening.
The film which received maximum nominations this year is Mank. The black and white biopic based on the life of Herman J. Mankiewicz (the co-screenplay writer of Citizen Kane) received 10 nominations including Best Picture, Best Director (David Fincher), Best Actor (Gary Oldman) and Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Amanda Seyfried).
The Trial of The Chicago 7, Judas And The Black Messiah, and The Father received six nominations each whereas Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom received five. The late actor Chadwick Boseman is a contender in the Best Actor category for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
The Academy Awards will be held on April 25 with a blend of virtual and live action presentation. The host for the show is yet to be announced.
