Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt starrer Shamshera that was announced amidst a lot of excitement last year (December 2018) has seen little development since. The action thriller that was slated to be released mid-next year (July 2020) is yet to go on the floors. Now the latest buzz that’s doing the rounds is that due to constant delays the Karan Malhotra film produced by Yash Raj Films may be shelved.

However, CineBlitz has exclusively learnt that the reports are baseless and the film is on track, though a little delayed. A source close to the production house revealed that the Shamshera’s shoot has been delayed, but not cancelled. The source said, “The film is on track. It had been delayed due to reasons not under the control of the production house. The film requires Ranbir and Sanjay to sport a certain look. But with their films Brahmastra and Panipat respectively still going on, it became difficult for them to commit to bulk dates that they need to maintain the continuity of the looks. Hence the delay.” Well, that’s some relief and good news for the Ranbir fans, who were kicked about seeing him in a never-seen-before avatar.
