It was in 2001 that Mira Nair had given Randeep Hooda his first break as an actor in her highly-acclaimed film Monsoon Wedding. The film had worked in Randeep’s favour instantly making him an actor-to-watch-out-for! Strangely though, the filmmaker and the actor did not work together even once after Monsoon Wedding. But now the two are finally reuniting after 19 years. However, this time around, it’s not for a film, but a series being made for BBC. Randeep has reportedly been roped in by Nair for an eight-episode adaptation of the popular book A Suitable Boy by renowned writer Vikram Seth.

Buzz was that Ishaan Khatter was first signed in for the project, but he backed out at the last moment. The makers then approached Rajkummar Rao, but he could not take up the project due to date issues. It was then that the makers approached Randeep Hooda who was more than happy to work with Mira Nair again and for a project that seems very interesting on all counts.

Tabu and Boman Irani too may be on board for the project. Interestingly, one of Tabu’s most-loved roles was in Mira Nair’s The Namesake. Meanwhile, Randeep is currently busy with Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal 2 also starring Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan. Besides, this, the actor will also be seen in Chris Hemsworth-starrer web-series Dhaka.
