We were the first ones to tell you about Punjabi singer Harrdy Sandhu playing Indian pacer Madan Lal in Kabir Khan’s 83. Now in the latest development, we have learnt that yet another actor has been cast to add to the Team 11 in the Ranveer Singh-starrer sports biopic based on India’s historic cricket World Cup win in 1983 at Lords, London. The film that is set to roll soon has been generating curiosity to see who, are the actors besides Ranveer that form the team that was originally captained by Kapil Dev! And now CineBlitz exclusively has another name of the actor who is set to join the screen team as its newest member.

CineBlitz has exclusively learnt that actor-filmmaker Addinath Kothare has been roped in to play India’s ace batsman Dilip Vengsarkar. Interestingly the film also marks Addinath’s Bollywood debut. While there was one more actor short-listed earlier to play the batsman, we can now confirm that it’s Addinath who will be playing Vengsarkar. The Marathi star is veteran actor Mahesh Kothare’s son. An insider says that the team is already prepping for their respective roles with extensive training in cricket already on.

As for Vengsarkar, it may be recalled that the ace batsman had to drop out of the final of the 1983 tournament after he was injured by being hit in the face by a bouncer from Malcolm Marshall. Vengsarkar could not play in the finals due to this field injury that he had sustained in the earlier match. Meanwhile, Ranveer – who will play Indian cricket team’s former captain Kapil Dev – has let out that wife Deepika Padukone is busy with her production Chhapak and so may not be able to play his on screen wife in the Kabir Khan film.
