Ravi Kishan on Swarna Swar Bharat set

Zee TV’s first-of-its-kind, devotional singing reality show – Swarna Swar Bharat started off on a positive note and has gone on to entertain the audience. A humble contribution to the Honorable Prime Minister’s noble initiative of ‘Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav – the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence,’ the show endeavours to celebrate our rich cultural heritage like never before. In fact, viewers have been having a gala time as the singing reality show takes them back to their roots through a unique blend of insightful and relatable stories narrated through some wonderful verses and soulful devotional music.

While all the contestants have mesmerized the judges and the audience with their extraordinary and soulful performances, this weekend during the Swarna Swar Bharat Navrati special episode, contestant Atharv will steal everyone’s heart as he sings Main Balak Tu Mata Sherawaliye. During the shoot, he left everyone so spellbound by his act that everybody went down memory lane, remembered their childhood and got nostalgic. In fact, host Ravi Kishan was so moved by Atharv’s performance that he opened up about the days of his struggle and how his father was not initially supportive of him taking up acting. He went on to mention how his mother always supported him and helped him achieve his dreams.

As Ravi Kishan mentioned, “Not a lot of people know, but I have struggled for many years and played a lot of roles in my career before I achieved some level of success. While I come from a village which is located near Banaras, and my father was a priest, I always wanted to become an actor since my childhood. In fact, I even took up the role of Sita in a Ramlila for pursuing my passion, however, my father did not like me acting. On the other hand, my mother always supported me. She wanted me to fulfill my dream and pursue my passion for acting. That’s why, one fine day, my mother handed me 500 rupees and with that money, I fled to Mumbai to follow my passion. Till date, even during the middle of elections when I am traveling, I call my mother to understand the situation on the ground. She’s very smart and clever and has been my support system all my life. Whatever fame I have got till date, all the credit goes to my mother.”

While Atharv’s performance and Ravi Kishan’s revelations will surely surprise everyone, wait till you see the beautiful performances by all the talented contestants on the show during the auspicious days of Navratri.
