Bhavi PatelTalks about Ranbir and Alia’s wedding are only increasing, amidst which, the groom-to-be’s late father, Rishi Kapoor’s last movie is Sharmaji Namkeen is gaining more and more appreciation from the audience. The movie begins with a small heartfelt message conveyed by Ranbir for his late father.
Reports remind of a time when Rishi Kapoor spoke about his fatherhood and how Ranbir could create a different relationship with his children. Rishi talked about his relationship with his father Raj Kapoor on The Anupam Kher Show where he said that he had been closer to his mother since his father was at work most of the time. When Rishi was asked more about his father, he answered that his father “never had time”.
Taking a lesson from his childhood he consciously chose to spend time with his children as he would take a day off every Sunday and a month each year to go on family vacations to achieve that goal. It is learnt that, for Rishi vacations meant visiting his grandparents along with his mother. But with time things changed for him as he filled in the gaps of his childhood by means of his children. He hoped that Ranbir too, would do right by his children.
Rishi must have been a proud parent. Once, when asked about his greatest strength as a father he said that he was happy to be able to cultivate a sense of tradition and culture in his son, as reports further add that he also established boundaries when and where required; his goal was to guide Ranbir as a father more than to support him as a friend.
