Kantara is amongst the standout films of 2022 with widespread appreciation from critics and audiences across the world. Created on a minimal budget, this movie has gone on to break multiple records and emerged to become the highest-grossing film in the state of Karnataka. Rishab Shetty, who has written, directed, and acted in the film spoke to IMDb in an exclusive interaction about filming the pre-climax scene of Kantara and how he overcame difficulties and injuries.

Speaking of the injuries sustained while filming Kantara, Rishab Shetty said, “In the pre-climax of the film, there is an action sequence of mine at night with a guy named Madhavachari, at that time we used to rehearse from afternoon till evening. For that pre-climax fight, we used a single shot or 360-degree shot at night with rain effects. It was very hard to bring water to that location. We asked the nearby villagers if we could draw water from a nearby well for those 6-7 days of shoot. By the time we were done shooting, the well was empty as well. It was very hectic to shoot throughout the night with rain effect and we shot something like this after many years. A lot of technicians were present on set as well. While rehearsing for the pre-climax, I began having issues with my shoulder. During a 360-degree shot, I dislocated one shoulder. On the very next day, I dislocated my other shoulder as well during shooting. Both my shoulders were dislocated but I continued with the shoot.”
