In the latest episode of their popular podcast “Couple of Things”, RJ Anmol and actress Amrita Rao welcomed Yogi and Kabeer, a much-loved and much popular same-sex couple from Delhi, who shared their inspiring journey of love, self-acceptance, and resilience. The two, who are together since 15th August 2015, spoke about their love story with warmth and honesty.

Yogi and Kabeer, both from the radio industry, also offered a glimpse into their present lives and spoke on topics ranging from family expectations to breaking societal norms. Anmol fondly recalled working with Yogi at a radio channel in Delhi where Yogi was a copywriter. Kabeer shared his own experience as a popular RJ in Indore, where he hosted a popular version of the hit radio show, “Puraani Jeans”.

During the episode, Yogi and Kabeer also discussed their coming-out journeys, the struggles with homophobia, and the courage it took to embrace their true selves. Kabeer, the youngest in a Punjabi family from Delhi, spoke about losing his father at 14 and stepping up as the “man of the house” from a young age. Yogi, on the other hand, grew up in a traditional Marwari family.

Both men recounted the pressures they felt to conform to societal norms, making their journey to self-acceptance even more poignant.
