Ayan Mukherji’s Brahmastra is one of the most anticipated films of this year. Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy, the film revealed its first logo in the most unusual fashion, just a few days back. The logo reveal won everyone’s hearts and fans have been waiting for further details since then. The reveal also marked Ayan Mukherji’s debut on Instagram, and the excited director makes sure he keeps updating his fans about his film. Well, his recent post caught our attention and we just couldn’t wait to share it with you.

Ayan, in his post, revealed that Ranbir’s character who is now named Shiva was initially named Rumi. Why? Well, the reason he cited ran thus, “Rumi. First, he was Rumi. Rumi with long hair. This image is from an early look-test for the movie. Rumi said, ‘Love is the bridge between you and everything…’, and that feeling is the foundation we started building the protagonist of this movie on… But then, there was a new inspiration, newer thoughts… Dragon became Brahmāstra, we gave Ranbir a haircut, and Rumi became… Shiva.” Yes, the film was also not initially named Brahmastra. It started as Rumi in Dragon and landed up as Shiva in Brahmastra during the journey. Interesting, right? Check out the post right here and share your thoughts on it in the comments section below.

In another post, Ayan even revealed how Ranbir was the first person to come on-board for this film. We have already seen the camaraderie that this actor-director pair share, and now we cannot wait to see what the film Brahmastra has to offer us with their collective creative inputs.
