Nawazuddin Siddiqui has come to be recognised as a much celebrated face at some of the most prestigious International film festivals. This year too, the actor’s film Photograph is set for its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival (January 24 – February 3). The film is amongst the 112 selected movies that are set to be screened at the festival being held in Park City, Utah, USA. However, the actor might have to give the event and the festival a miss this time around as he is busy with the promotions of his upcoming release Thackeray (January 25). He is also shooting for the second season of Sacred Games.

Photograph has Nawaz pairing up with Sanya Malhotra for the first time on the big screen. However, this is his second with Ritesh Batra (director). If you remember, he had starred in the filmmaker’s The Lunchbox in 2013. Nawaz, who wrapped up the South Africa schedule of Sacred Games earlier this month, has started shooting the second schedule from late Sunday evening at Film City. “It will be nice if I can swing in a break of two-three days to attend the Sundance Film Festival, but it seems difficult as we are on a tight schedule,” says Nawaz while talking to us! Talking about being a recognised face at these festivals, he says that it’s good to see your work and efforts being appreciated on such a large platform.

Photograph is slated to release in India on March 8. The film revolves around a struggling photographer from Mumbai, who is under pressure from his grandmother to marry. In order to get away from the situation he convinces a shy stranger to pose as his fiancée. The pair develops a connection that transforms them in ways they least expect. Ritesh’s previous film The Lunchbox (2013) with Nawaz had also won several national and international awards including some of the most prestigious ones!
