Salman Khan to judge and produce Nach Baliye 9

Salman Khan who will be next seen in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat has rarely had a dud at the Box Office. Amongst his flops was Tubelight, for which the actor had to bear huge losses. In fact, he also had to compensate the distributors for Tubelight’s performance at the Box Office. While the film released on Eid 2017, it was expected to do a decent business, however, the film badly tanked. And now we get to know that Salman Khan was never in favour of Tubelight having an Eid release. Yes, the actor made this revelation during the media interaction for his next production Notebook.

During the interaction when Salman was asked that with so much experience could he pre-empt the business a film would do, which is when the actor recalled that Tubelight was released with high expectations during Eid, but he was not in favour of the Indian war drama releasing on a holiday. He rather wanted it to release on a regular Friday. Salman said, “For Tubelight, I did say that people were going there to have a great time, we knew what the script is, so this film should not be an Eid release. But they said we have got that date, that is when I should have put my foot down because people who went to celebrate came out crying. So it should have been on a nice Friday and not on any festival. The release of Tubelight was wrong.” Tubelight was directed by Kabir Khan and it was based on the 1962 Sino-Indian war.

Next, Salman Khan will be producing Zaheer Iqbal and Pranutan Bahl’s Notebook. On the acting front, after Bharat, the actor will be seen working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Inshallah. The film also stars Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt. As a producer also Salman has several things in the pipeline, in fact, the actor revealed that he has been offered to produce something in the digital space.
