While Social Media platforms (including dating apps) have their pluses, there are some major drawbacks too that come with being an active user of the digital world and attracting trollers is one of them. So, while we see most celebs using it to work in their favour when it comes to wooing fans especially during promoting their screen ventures, they are often also seen complaining about the constant scrutiny. There has been a huge share of run-ins too that these stars have had in the world of networking. Here are 5 celebs who got in trouble due to social media.
1. Ajaz Khan

The ex-Bigg Boss contestant, who has been in the news for all the wrong reasons, was recently sent into 14 days of police custody. It so happened that Khan shared an objectionable video on social media which was said to be promoting hatred on religious grounds. A complaint was filed with the cybercrime branch by a local from Mumbai after which Ajaz was arrested. Well, this isn’t the first time Ajaz has been in police custody, but this once it was for his social media post.
2. Karan Oberoi

Another case that blew out of proportion in May 2019 was about Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi actor Karan Oberoi who was accused of rape and blackmailing by a female astrologer. Karan met this astrologer through a dating application called Tinder, and a right swipe cost him much and landed him in jail for more than a month. The matter is still in court.
3. Mona Singh

In 2013, a rather embarrassing video of a fully naked girl (who was a lookalike of Mona Singh) circulated on several Whatsapp Groups as well as on Facebook, bringing in serious embarrassment for the Kya Hua Tera Wada actress. While the actress claimed that the video was morphed, she also had to file a complaint with the cyber-crime branch.

Sara who has been quite a popular name in the TV circuit made headlines after her nude bathtub pictures went viral in 2018. It had so happened that while the actress and her sister were on a vacation in Sri Lanka, in a tipsy state her sister posted Sara’s pictures on her Instagram story and this brought Sara severe backlash from many fronts and she was also slammed on religious grounds.
5. Rytasha Rathore

When &TV show Badho Bahu featured a leading lady who was plus-size, it left many viewers talking. But Rytasha shut up everyone with her amazing performance. However, the lady was often a victim of fat-shaming as well as body shaming, but she never let it affect her. In 2017, Rytasha posted a bold picture on Instagram, and even though many appreciated it, the trolling was more brutal as a result of which Rystasha had to remove the post.
