Times are changing and women are taking centre-stage in the Indian film industry. And it isn’t just us who are saying this but the Badshah of Bollywood himself. Shah Rukh Khan who was recently honoured with a doctorate in London, later also did an interview with a leading international news network. There he spoke about the changing gender dynamics in the Indian film industry. The superstar had many good things to say and here is all you need to know about it.

SRK after winning hearts throughout the world was recently awarded an honorary doctorate in Philanthropy from the University of Law in London. While he was in London he appeared for an interview with a leading news network where he spoke about many things. The most prominent point was what he spoke about how gender dynamics in the Indian entertainment industry is changing and for good. SRK with all the experience that he has had in his journey of all these years, said, “The roles of women and the kind of attitude you have at the workplace for women is changing for positive. There will be discrepancies and ups and downs too. There were times when I was working in the 1990s that if a lady got married, she normally did not have the opportunity to come back and act in a film. But now they are married and acting in films and it’s so seamless and nice. So I think of positive stuff for female actors in the film industry.” There is no doubt things are changing and we hope that the evolution continues.

Meanwhile, SRK was awarded the doctorate for his work as a Philanthropist. SRK’s NGO Meer Foundation is an organisation that works with acid attack survivors and helps them rebuild their world and empower them to have a brighter future. That apart, he has lent his support to various Government campaigns, such as Pulse Polio and National Aids Control Organisation. He has also worked with many charitable foundations including Make-a-wish Foundation.
