Shah Rukh Khan meets Arsenal star Mesut Ozil; invites him to India

Shah Rukh Khan’s love for sports is an open secret. Owner of Indian Premier League team Kolkata Knight Riders, Khan is also invested in the sports professionally. Often seen cheering for his team from the front line at their matches, the superstar is clearly in it for the long haul. After inviting several guests to his KKR games, the tables turned when Shah Rukh attended a football match as a special guest himself. Yes, SRK was recently invited by the German footballer and icon Mesut Ozil for his English Premier League match. Being a football fanatic, Shah Rukh obviously accepted the invitation and attended the Arsenal versus Newcastle United match in London. Aaron Ramsey and Alexandre Lacazette were on the scoresheet as Arsenal eased to a 2-0 win to climb to the third spot in the Premier League.

Anyway, both SRK and Ozil fans went into a frenzy seeing the two icons together up, close and personal. What’s even more interesting is the fact that Ozil may soon visit India as King Khan has also given him an invitation. Well, if that happens then it won’t be surprising if the star footballer is spotted at one of the IPL matches of KKR, no? After their meeting, Khan and Ozil took to their respective social media handles and shared pictures from their interaction. Within minutes, their photos went viral on the web and SRK’s tweet blew up the internet as he wrote, “What a lovely evening @Arsenal congratulations. Thx @MesutOzil1088 & #AmineGulse for your warmth love & hospitality. See u guys soon in India.”

Well, this is not the first time that the German footballer has shown his love for our Bollywood stars. Last year, he expressed his wish to pay a visit to India and meet Gully Boy Ranveer Singh, who is also a huge Ozil fan. Along with Ozil, SRK also met another Arsenal player, Granit Xhaka. The latter has been a fan of SRK for years and he even took a picture with his wax statue a few years back. So obviously he was on cloud nine when he met his favourite actor in person a few days back. Sharing a picture on his Insta feed, Xhaka wrote, “I love watching @iamsrk perform and I hope he enjoyed the performance @arsenal put on last night   An honour for me to finally meet one of my favourite actors   and for real this time.” That caption is so sweet, right peeps?
